About Me

I'm Jennifer Williams, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist here in La Cañada Flintridge. My childhood connection with the community guides my ability to serve local teens and adults with a deeper level of insight and understanding.

It has been my passion to help individuals build a life supported by their personal goals and values. My expertise is in working with teens, addiction, ADHD, couples counseling, grief, spirituality and depression, anxiety and trauma. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to watch clients overcome challenges, let go of unwanted habits, make sense of what keeps them stuck, and find hope that had been lost.

I serve the La Cañada, La Crescenta, Glendale, Montrose, Pasadena, Altadena and surrounding Los Angeles neighborhoods. I am available in-person at my La Cañada office as well as online to individuals residing in California.

My Philosophy

I believe that we all have a natural tendency toward growth, but sometimes we get stuck because we feel hurt, rejected, dismissed or frustrated as a result of various life circumstances. These emotions are uncomfortable, so in an attempt to feel better, we start using an assortment of defenses to cope with the lost feeling of safety. This can look like shutting down, increased arguing, intense feelings of sadness, hopelessness, avoidance, substance use, worry and more.

I provide my clients with individualized support to help with each person's unique needs. We will take a deeper look into the origins of disruptive patterns and begin to make sense of different defenses you may use to feel safe. This therapeutic journey can lead to a deeper connection with self and others, increased self-awareness and personal restoration.
