FAQ

I have answered some of the most common questions asked about starting therapy. If you need more information, please reach out over the phone or by email, and I would be more than happy to answer any other questions you may have. Remember, starting therapy takes courage and I am glad you are here.

How long are therapy sessions?

A typical session is 45-50 minutes long. I do offer 60-minute and 90-minute sessions for client’s that what additional time or for couples/family work.

How much are sessions?

45-minute session fee is $170

60-minute session fee is $185

90-minute session fee is $255

Do you offer a sliding scale?

I will occasionally have a slot available to see a client on a sliding scale fee. You are welcomed to call and inquire. If I do not have a spot available at the time, I will gladly put you on my waitlist. Sliding scale clients are seen before 3PM.

Do you take insurance?

No, I am an out of network provider. What I can do is provide you with a monthly statement that you can submit to your PPO insurance provider for reimbursement. You will need to contact your provider to determine if they offer out of network reimbursement. You will be the one responsible to submit the monthly statement, also known as a super bill, to your provider.

How much will insurance reimburse me?

It will depend on your plan. I highly recommend calling your provider directly and asking if they offer reimbursement for mental health services. I can provide you with my Tax-ID and NPI number which insurance companies sometime require to move forward. Send me a message and I will gladly walk you through the process.

How often should I schedule sessions?

For therapy to be the most effective, weekly sessions are the standard level of care. As you progress in treatment and begin achieving your desired goals, we can review how you feel about reducing sessions. I understand that sometimes a variety of factors can contribute to your need to reduce the frequency of sessions. I will encourage you to commit to weekly sessions at the start and then we can explore other options as needed.

Do you offer in-person or online therapy?

Both! I have an office in La Cañada where I see clients in-person. I also offer online telehealth services to clients located in California.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24-hour notice to cancel an appointment. You will be responsible for the full session fee if cancelation is less than 24-hours.

How do I contact you in between sessions?

Sending me a text will often be the quickest way to get ahold of me. I use Spruce, which is a HIPAA compliant platform, to message clients. You can always call or send an email and I will get back to you in 24-hours.
